  • About What Nonsense

What Nonsense is a slice-of-life series with an ongoing mystery underneath. The story follows a workaholic boar named Mr. Swinson who is sent to a remote vacation home, Nawncentz, by his boss. But when he meets his strange new neighbors, Mr. Swinson thinks that there's more to the story here. Everyone at Nawncentz has a troubled past, and Swinson's arrival may have just set a mysterious plan in motion.

This webcomic is recommended for ages 14 and up, mostly for language and violence.

What Nonsense has been online since 2008 and has no fixed schedule for now. You can be notified of new pages via the following ways:

    Social Media:
    Facebook
    Twitter
    Tumblr

I've planned out the story for What Nonsense, and I think it'll make one 400-500 page graphic novel when it's done. I sketch each page in pencil, then letter and ink by hand. I then scan the page and color it in Photoshop CS2. You can see what each step of the process looks like here. All the colors I use are "classic" comic book colors in 25% increments of cyan, magenta, and yellow. A video of my coloring process is here.

    About the Cartoonist

My name is Caitlin Crowley, and I draw and write What Nonsense. In 2012 I graduated from SMU with a degree in English with a specialization in Creative Writing. I enjoy collecting things, watching cartoons, and telling stories.

I draw stuff besides new pages from time to time; bonus What Nonsense art, fanart for other things I like. You can follow my art on these sites:

    FurAffinity (for anthro animal art)
    Art Tumblr (for everything)
    pixiv (mostly just anime fanart)

I also write prose fiction. My first published story is "Outcasts of the Fair Forest," from NewMyths.com's 29th issue.
